My work explores the suffering of the contemporary individual within a hyperconnected world that paradoxically drives us toward isolation. I am deeply interested in the emotional consequences of this condition—loneliness, anxiety, and the persistent need for real connection. Within this context, resilience emerges as a defining force. Beneath the stillness of my figures lies a quiet resistance: an emotional strength shaped by vulnerability and sustained by an inherent capacity to endure, transform, and rebuild. My work seeks to reveal this inner strength not as something heroic or overt, but as a subtle and constant presence within the human experience.
I create evocative portraits that establish a direct dialogue with the viewer. Through intense, penetrating gazes, my figures draw the viewer in, creating a space for emotional recognition. These portraits become sites of identification, where fragility and strength coexist.
Colour and contrast are central to my visual language. I employ intense, vivid palettes in deliberate tension to express emotional dualities: vulnerability and resilience, presence and absence, fragmentation and wholeness.
My creative process combines digital and analogue techniques to reflect the dual nature of identity. Each portrait originates in the digital realm, created using tools such as Procreate, embodying the controlled and polished aesthetics of constructed, performative identity. I then translate these works into physical paintings using vibrant, textured acrylics, embracing the imperfections of the material. In this transformation, the portraits become like avatars coming to life—emerging from the virtual world and re-entering the physical one, reclaiming their humanity in all its imperfection and emotional depth.
Although I embrace new technologies as creative tools, I remain committed to a slow, meditative practice that reconnects with the inner self and resists the immediacy of digital culture.
Ultimately, my work seeks to bridge the gap between the constructed self and the authentic human core, revealing the quiet yet powerful resilience that enables us to resist, adapt, and remain present in an increasingly mediated reality. In this sense, finding inner strength and peace becomes not only a personal pursuit, but an essential refuge.
